The standard curl on the bandiron overwire bead hasn’t changed much since our engineers developed it in the late 1970s. But then again, it didn’t need to. It’s worked so well for so long. That situation has changed recently with the advent of new robotic bread pan picking technology. This new technology requires that our bread and pullman sets be picked up by robotic "fingers" on their top beads at their outside overwire curl. Chicago Metallic has worked in conjunction with several of the automation manufactures to develop a new style top bead that will make it easier for the robot "fingers" to place and pick up the pan sets. The design result of this effort is depicted here. This new square top bead will now be standard on all Chicago Metallic bread and pullman sets that call for bandiron overwire construction. Regardless of whether or not your baking plant is equipped for robotic pan picking technology, your Chicago Metallic baking sets will be ready when you are. |
